Learning to drive? How should you choose an instructor?

Looking for a driving instructor can be a confusing choice.

There are lots of driving instructors in South Yorkshire, so how do you choose who is best to teach you?

A lot of learner drivers ask questions about the price of lessons and how quickly they'll be able to pass their test but few ask about the instructor grading system or if he instructor is approved by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA).

If you're looking for a driving instructor here are the questions that you should be asking:

• Are you a DSA approved instructor?
• Do you have a green badge or a pink badge? (green is qualified, pink is a trainee)
• What grade are you, 12345 or 6?
• Can I see your grade please?
• What does the grade mean?
• Do I get help with my theory test?
• Are you pass plus registered?
• Can you explain pass plus to me?
• Will I have a mock test before my test?
